Realeyes Participates in Reading Recovery


The Realeyes team along with the help of Dr. Jeff Walline, Dr. Karla Zadnik, and Rick Cornett, exhibited at the National Reading Recovery conference February 2-4, 2013.  Over 2,000 reading teachers from across the country met in Columbus for their national conference and the OOA was there to make sure they understand the importance of vision in reading.  Hundreds of conversations took place over the 3 days encouraging teachers to make sure their students eyes are seeing as best as they can be.

Dr. Michael Earley will speak on: goals and limitations of vision screenings; visual conditions targeted by current screenings; binocular vision issues that can interfere with school readiness; additional screening tests for detection of these binocular conditions; common visual health conditions that present to school nurse; current research on brain development associated with reading acquisition; and the role accurate visual processing plays in allowing cortical development to occur.
